A GOSPEL RADIO PLAY
REDEEMED is a Gospel radio play that was created and written by award-winning author, Angela Shelf Medearis, and produced by her company Diva Productions, Inc. REDEEMED is presented to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The actors in this radio drama are all local Austin residents.
REDEEMED is the story of the trials, tribulations, and spiritual enlightenment of Mary Masonette, a young woman from a small town in Boxton ,Texas. REDEEMED illustrates how the Scriptures are just as relevant to modern life as they were in ancient times.
REDEEMED is also a Gospel soap opera with all of the twists, turns, surprises, and drama that are a part of many secular shows, but with a powerful, life-changing message within each episode.
The main character in REDEEMED is Mary Masonette. Like the Biblical Mary Magdalene, she has been a prostitute, a drug addict and a thief for more than fifteen years. Her naive assumptions that accepting Christ will completely change everyone's attitude about her, clear her of all the wrong she did to the people in her past, and that everyone will forgive and forget are parts of this intriguing radio drama.
REDEEMED also features a colorful cast of characters, soul-stirring Gospel songs, a love story, lots of laughter, and a thought-provoking segment called CHOICES WITH PASTOR SALEM ROBINSON, JR., which provides the Scriptural basis for each episode.
REDEEMED presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that encourages listeners to re-examine their beliefs about Christianity and the concept of forgiveness, while enjoying an entertaining and heart-warming drama about the Spiritual growth of a young Christian.
